2020 in Photos

Updated: Mar 25, 2021

A year we will always remember.

When news of the pandemic first trickled out, a small group and I were touring the heartlands of India. We wound our way to Delhi and managed to board the last flights out. Arriving in Canada was like landing in the middle of an apocalypse: deserted roads, unbelievable gas prices, quarantine, and no knowing what would happen next. Only upside? Plenty of time to reminisce about three India 2020 tours we were fortunate to complete before travel ground to a halt. Here are some highlights.

Gujarat-Kutch: Salt desert, shipbuilding, village visits, natural dyeing

Jaipur : Block print workshops, natural indigo dyeing, and Jaipur Literary Festival

We plan to return to Gujarat-Kutch-Rajasthan in January 2022 with an added attraction: the incredible stepwells of Gujarat. More here.

Orissa: Indigenous lands, rural markets, village-to-village walks

Orissa: northern temples, weaving villages, ikat everywhere

Orissa stole our hearts. Unlike anywhere else in India. We hope to repeat this tour in 2023. Write us!

Essence of India: Goa, Badami, Hampi

Essence of India: Art Deco Mumbai

Essence of India: heart of India in Maheshwar, Ajanta, Ellora

Essence of India: Tribal art museum, Orchha, Sanchi, and coming back home

Zigzagged through little-trodden and spectacular heartlands -- the very essence of India. Indophiles, rejoice! Write us for more info.

We hope to be wheels up in late 2021. I can't wait to host you again! Take a look at our tour offerings and generous cancellation policy. In the meantime, join us for virtual travel events with exceptional speakers.
