During a fireside chat, a renowned lecturer from the University of Meknes enlightened us about Morocco’s women’s rights movement. Since 2004, women have progressively won more constitutional rights. This has spawned a thriving women-owned artisans business scene, which we enthusiastically supported.
Our accommodations, ranged from jewel box-like riads (heritage mansions) to a luxury tented camp . . . each an attraction in its own right.

We really couldn’t leave without sampling every kind of perfectly spiced tajine and flaky cinnamon-dusted pastillas. Oh, and gallons of mint tea and freshly squeezed orange juice!

Many, many highlights but the best one had to be riding a camel in the Sahara!
